Overview and Open House Schedule
For more than 43 years, thousands of students have been educated at Solomon Schechter Day School of Essex and Union. Our graduates have become today’s doctors, attorneys, educators, journalists, musicians, and entrepreneurs. They are also becoming leaders who will guide our community into the future with Jewish values as well as a deep knowledge of our texts and traditions.
Our excellent academic program, rooted in Jewish values and trad itions, makes SSDSEU the right choice for many families.

Academic excellence is the hallmark of our school. Our students become life-long learners because of our dedicated teaching staff and our outstanding programs in both general and Judaic studies. We provide individual attention and differentiated instruction; every child is encouraged to excel. Our high school offers a challenging college preparatory program. We are accredited by the NJ Association of Independent Schools.
SSDSEU is an exciting, responsive and ethical community. Jewish values are the foundation of everything we do. Our students understand the concepts of derech eretz and mitzvah as demonstrated by their daily interactions with one another. Our graduates become proud and motivated participants in the Jewish community.
We are proud to educate our students in a place where values and excellence are not just taught, but are truly lived.
We invite you to visit our school and find out more about our outstanding program for grades Pre-K through 12. Our admissions staff will be happy to arrange a tour of our Upper or Lower School campuses. Please call us at 973-602-3601, or e-mail Admissions@ssdseu.org. The Schechter Experience Video
